It is no surprise that social media can be the devil. It sends expectations for our lives that seem unreachable and unrealistic. We see the “perfect” outfit, the cute little parties, the “perfect” family, the full face of makeup, and more. We do not see much of the behind the scenes.
I want to be real with you guys, life is so full of dumb stuff. It is full of messes, fights, bed hair, sickness, crying babies, family problems, financial issues- the list can go on and on. I mean, you know. Social media has gained full control over our lives. We sit and scroll, comparing our lives, our successes and our experiences. It is toxic.
Social media is a highlight reel. We have to remember that we don’t see it ALL. We just see what people choose to post. There is always more to the story.
You might see a happy couple with a cute mushy post but behind the scenes, they argued during that picture. You might see a beautiful family picture but behind the scenes the kids were crying the whole time. A girl might post a selfie but what you don’t see is she is battling with depression.
So when you start to compare or think your life is a mess, trust me everyone around you is going through something we don’t know about.
